Nehal’s Questions:

A book that always gives you giggling vibes.

Take a Hint, Dani Brown (The Brown Sisters, #2)

Take a Hint Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

Romance hands down makes me giggle whether for the good or the down right cringe. I giggled out of pure enjoyment with this one. I have yet to read the other two and I really need and want to. It says a lot about this book/ author that I’m interested in reading a romance. This book strikes a great balance between life’s complexity and fun.

A book that was neither good nor bad.

The Year of the Witching

The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson

Not good but by no means is this a terrible book. I was hoping to love this book. It sounds incredible and there are aspects to enjoy in this story. However overall, this didn’t leave a huge impact one way or the other. I am curious to see this series continue. It’s hard to talk about middle of the road books.

A book character that always made you roll your eyes.

Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms, #1)

Lucia from Fallen Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes

Ugh, I’m surprised my eyes are still in my head. I for sure thought they were going to keep on rolling. I’ve never hated a character more. There are six, SIX books and she has to be in every. one. of. them.

I’ve never wanted a character to die more lol

A book that was way too deep for you to enjoy.

Record of a Spaceborn Few (Wayfarers #3)

Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers

The problem that I didn’t enjoy this isn’t exclusively that it was too deep to enjoy it’s an element but not the sum. This was definitely a combo of not connecting to the characters and the sad tragedy being used to catapult everyone’s character arc. I just felt really weird and sad about the whole thing and it made it impossible to enjoy.

A book you did the mistake of reading during a slump

The Gilded Ones (Deathless, #1)

The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna

I dnf’ed this one for now, read that again for now. I will read this someday. I definitely picked it up at the wrong time. It’s been a struggle to read lately so when I was feeling productive after having read something great I picked this up but I tend to fall into a pit for some reason after reading an exhilarating book. So I set this book up to fail from the jump. I only read the first chapter but I can tell it’s going to be a grand adventure.

I’m Tagging:

Pilar @ the Bookworm Shelf

Asmita @ The Fictional Journal

My questions:

  • A book you want to punch
  • A book that gives you cozy vibes
  • A book villain that scares you
  • Book/series that gives you butterflies
  • A book that intimidates you
